Data controller

CSVLinter Inc. ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller responsible for your personal data unless otherwise specified.

Information we collect

We temporarily process your uploaded CSV files strictly to provide validation results. We also collect minimal metadata (file name, upload timestamp, user IP) for operational purposes.

Article basis for processing

  • Performance of Contract: Validating files you submit.
  • Legitimate Interest: Improving service quality and security.
  • Consent: For non-essential cookies and analytics.

How we use your information

  • To validate and analyze your CSV files as requested.
  • To provide validation feedback and recommendations.
  • To monitor service performance and detect abuse or errors.

Data retention

We process your CSV files using serverless functions (AWS Lambda) that operate in a stateless manner. No data is retained after processing is complete. Your files are processed in memory and automatically destroyed when the function execution ends. We do not store, cache, or retain any uploaded files or their contents on our servers.

Cookies & tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate our site and analyze usage. You must consent to non-essential cookies when first visiting. You can manage cookie preferences via your browser settings.

Third-party services

We may integrate with third-party APIs (e.g., GitHub for issue tracking, Google Analytics). Please review their privacy policies for details on their data practices.

Security measures

We employ industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest), regular security audits, and a documented incident response plan.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access and obtain a copy of your personal data.
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request erasure of your personal information ("right to be forgotten").
  • Restrict or object to processing under applicable law.
  • Opt-out of sale or sharing of personal data (CCPA/CPRA).
  • Withdraw consent to cookies and analytics at any time.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be announced via email or site banner, and the "Last updated" date will be revised accordingly.
